Jewish
Jewish moneylender, Shylock. It is a legend of the Middle Ages that the Jews ate Christian meat on Passover. Christians generally believe that the Jews had harmed Jesus Christ. When Europeans mention Jews, they think of loan sharks. Jews can lend to Christians. The Old Testament Deuteronomy records: "It is profitable to lend to the Gentiles, but not to your brothers." Christians are strictly prohibited from loan sharks. In 1179, the Third Grand Duchy of Rutland stipulated that loan sharks should be expelled from the church. The Jews were generally socially excluded for loan sharking. During the reign of King Edward I, they ordered the expulsion of Jews from Britain. In 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain. In 1509, when the Cambrai Union war broke out, the Jews came to Venice to flee and lived in groups in an old cast-iron factory. These Jews were required to wear yellow clothes or hats. In 1541, the Venetian authorities arranged the Jews in another settlement, the later famous red table, which was seven floors high. Later, the Jews were allowed to become citizens of Venice and could engage in trading activities. Early European bankers were almost all Jewish and lived in Lombardy in northern Italy. The English Bank evolved from Banca in Italian.(資料來源:wekipidia)
